Chaplain

Chaplain Don Tomei has been the Districts Chaplain for the past two years. It was an easy transition for him because of his former employment as a Firefighter and Fire Inspector with the North Naples Fire District. He also served as a Firefighter/Paramedic for the Akron Ohio Fire Department.  As Senior Pastor of Restoration Church, he is able to transfer his ministerial experiences to another love of his life, the fire service and its members.

Those Fire Departments that are fortunate enough to have a chaplaincy program understand the need that exists during a personal emergency, or the benefit of having a trusting ear when there is a desire to discuss an issue.   The ability to speak with someone who understands what they are going through and honestly cares is extremely valuable.

The fire chaplain not only assists in ceremonies such as opening new stations, dedicating new equipment or officiating at new recruit graduations.  He also provide services to the members for weddings, counseling, or even in the unfortunate event of injuries or death.
