CROWD MANAGER FIRE SAFETY PROGRAM

 In accordance with the  Florida Fire Prevention Code including 2006 NFPA 101  Life Safety Code,  Sections 12.7.6.1/13.7.6.1,  establishments with an occupant load of
at least 50 people shall have at least one trained crowd manager or crowd manager supervisor. When the occupant load exceeds 250 people, the establishment must provide additional trained crowd managers or crowd supervisors at a ratio of one for every 250 occupants.

Where are crowd managers required?

In an occupancy used for a gathering of 50  or more persons for deliberation, worship, entertainment, eating, drinking, amusement, awaiting transportation, or similar uses, or used as a special amusement building, regardless of occupant load.

Who needs to attend? All business and places of assembly shall have a crowd manager on duty when 50 or more people are in attendance

What is the purpose of a crowd manager?

Your job is to see that everyone entering your establishment stays safe !

  • l By controlling groups of people at clubs, conventions, and other gatherings, and making sure that facilities are equipped to handle such crowds.
  • l By verifying life safety equipment is in service and ready to act if needed. This includes fire alarms, fire sprinklers, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and exit signage.
