NORTH NAPLES FIRE CONTROL & RESCUE DISTRICT LOWERS INSURANCE RATING FOR HOMEOWNERS IN THE COMMUNITIES OF OAKS BLVD, LIVINGSTON WOODS AND PINE RIDGE
A recently completed survey conducted by the Insurance Services Office (ISO) shows a drop in the previous (ISO) rating of a 3/9 to a solid 3 in the North Naples Fire District which includes areas not serviced by fire hydrants. The survey is conducted whenever it appears that there is a possibility of a classification change. A community's investment in fire mitigation is a proven predictor of future fire losses. In February 2009, a new 3,000 gallon water tender was added to the fleet of apparatus which aided in the rating drop.
Insurance Services Offices ("ISO") is an independent company that services insurance companies, communities, fire departments and others by providing information about risk. ISO collects and evaluates information related to a fire protection service provider and assigns a Public Protection Classification number to each community. This number from 1 to 10, with 1 representing the best rating, is then available to insurance companies and is utilized when establishing premium costs of a property owner's insurance.
The North Naples Fire Control & Rescue District is proud to hold an ISO rating of 3 District-wide. Only 5% of fire service providers nationally possess a rating of a 3 or better. This low rating results in cost savings to owners of residential, commercial and industrial property located within the District, and also serves a external verification of the exemplary job your fire department does in protecting your life and property.
